Illustrated Robert Burns works will adorn packs of Robert Wiseman milk this month in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Scottish poet.

Tam O’Shanter, The Banks o’Doon, Address to a Haggis and Auld Lang Syne will be printed on packs alongside cartoons from Scottish lino-cut illustrator Owain Kirby.

Robert Wiseman Dairies has created eight designs for 500ml and one-litre cartons and one- and two-litre bottles of whole and semi-skimmed milk.

The company has collaborated on the project with the Robert Burns World Federation and the organiser of more than 300 events, Homecoming Scotland.

According to Jim Shields, marketing director of the Robert Burns World Federation, Burns spent time as a dairy farmer during his short life.

“Wiseman paying tribute to our national bard in this way seems very appropriate,” he said.

The packs will be available from Friday 9 January.
