Firstan kits out new site with Bobst equipment

Firstan has invested in three Bobst 106 LE Visioncut die-cutters, in size 3b, and an 110 CS Expertfold gluer for the 7,482m² facility.

The Visioncuts will feature Quick Change technology from Bobst, while the Expertfold runs at 450 metres a minute and has a Bobst blank aligner to assist fast set-up.

The new machines will replace existing equipment.

“The new plant will give us more space, a better workflow, and improved facilities for our staff,” said Firstan production director Paul Hartwig.

“At the same time we are going to take the opportunity to increase the throughput in both cut and crease, and in folding and gluing.”

Some of Firstan’s staff have travelled to Switzerland to see the machines in operation and plans have been put in place for pre and post installation training.

Hartwig said: “Bobst offered us a real partnership that will see us into the future.”
