Manroland hands post-press kit brands to FriedheimJosh Brooks, 27 October 2009Be the first to comment on this article Printing press manufacturer Manroland GB is to pull out of post-press equipment next month when it hands over sales of Wohlenberg and Baumann converting equipment to Friedheim International. Friedheim will officially take on the UK sales operations for the brands on 2 November. A number of staff from Manroland GB’s Wohlenberg sales and service team will also transfer to Friedheim. Wohlenberg machines include guillotines and binding systems, while Baumann manufactures handling equipment. The deal is the result of a Manroland strategy to focus exclusively on its core market for printing presses, services and consumables. Wohlenberg and Baumann, meanwhile, become part of a growing portfolio of post-press products sold by Friedheim that includes brands such as Beck Packautomaten, Bielomatik Leuze, Tauler and Imanpack. Friedheim International managing director Peter Morris said that both were strong brands with a reputation for well-built products. “Crucially, the timing of the move means that the new sales and service structure will be established well in advance of IPEX 2010, which will be the ideal venue to demonstrate the new set up to the market and act as a launch pad for the economic recovery.” Manroland GB managing director Norman Revill added: “In Friedheim International, Wohlenberg and Baumann have found a natural home in a very professional organisation.” Click here for today’s headlines from across the packaging industry
