Sharp snaps up Rexam divisionstevenkiernan, 1 October 2006Be the first to comment on this article Sharp Interpack, a rigid plastics packaging firm, has acquired the Bristol-based food plastic packaging division of Rexam. Under its new ownership, Rexam Plastic Packaging will retain its 150 staff and continue to operate on existing product lines. The deal is the result of a four-year £42m investment in Sharp Interpack by its owners, the South African de Jaeger brothers. Rexam Plastic Packaging supplies MAP trays to the poultry sector and punnets to UK and Irish mushroom suppliers, using its patented rotary thermoforming technology. Sharp Interpack’s owners’ investment has also resulted in the opening of a purpose-built factory, two new warehouses and new systems. Speak Your Mind |
